Performance
Standard Engine
The 2025 Ford F-350 has four available powertrains. Each powertrain utilizes a large V8 engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The base powertrain equips you with a 6.8L V8 engine outputting 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque. Although an identical engine is standard with the F-250, the F-350’s towing and payload capacities are a substantial upgrade that helps separate it from the rest of Ford’s lineup.
The 2025 Ford F-350’s base powertrain has a maximum towing capacity of 18,900 lbs and an impressive 8,000-lb payload capacity. Its payload capacity outperforms competitors like the Ram 3500, GMC Sierra 3500 HD, and Silverado 3500 HD and is the highest of the four powertrains. The 2025 F-350 supports Class V tow hitches in its standard configuration, but a fifth wheel hitch or gooseneck hitch is what you’ll need to consider with any separate powertrain.
Available Engines
Upgrading to the first alternative powertrain equips you with a massive 7.3L V8 engine. It’s the largest in Ford’s lineup and is so large and powerful that it has earned the nickname “Godzilla.” The Godzilla engine’s uplift to 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque may not seem like a massive upgrade on paper. However, the 2025 model upgrades the Godzilla V8 engine’s maximum towing capacity to 22,500 lbs—a 19% upgrade over its predecessor despite outputting the same horsepower and torque. The Godzilla V8 engine’s payload capacity is slightly lower than the base powertrain but an impressive 7,635 lbs, still outperforming Ford’s competitors.
The last two powertrains for the 2025 F-350 use a 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 engine, with one being a high-output variant. The regular turbo-diesel engine outputs 475 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque—more torque output than the Sierra 3500 and Silverado 3500 HD. It boosts the F-350’s maximum towing capacity to an impressive 36,400 lbs, besting both the Silverado 3500 HD and Sierra 3500 HD’s best efforts.
Upgrading to the high-output turbo-diesel V8 engine introduces a few class-leading specs, including 500 hp, 1,200 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum towing capacity of 38,000 lbs. Compared to the base engine, the high-output turbo-diesel engine has a 170% greater torque throughput and a 101% boost to its maximum towing capacity.
None of the F-350’s competitors can outperform it when equipped with the high-output turbo-diesel engine, including the powerful Ram 3500. The F-350 is perfect for hard workers who need vast towing performance. Business owners like landscapers and farmers who need to tow large machinery or livestock will have more than enough power to work with. Hobbyists like boaters or campers who own large RVs to tow around each summer all benefit from the power each 2025 F-350 has under the hood.
Cargo Bed Capability
The 2025 F-350 has two of the best cargo beds on the market for reasons beyond their spaciousness. Ford is known for its ability to push the envelope regarding what we expect from our truck beds, with accessibility, versatility, and reliability being three key areas the manufacturer focuses on. A truck isn’t complete without a durable and spacious bed, but nowadays, you can add technological capability.
Bed Sizes
The two beds available for the 2025 F-350 measure 6.8′ and 8.2′ long. Both bed sizes are larger than any of the F-150’s bed sizes, further separating it from Ford’s heavy-duty offerings. The 6.8′-long bed contains 65.4 cu.ft. of cargo space, and the 8.2′-long bed has 78.5 cu.ft. of available cargo room, meaning both are sufficient for transporting work equipment or enjoying your hobbies in a new way. You’ll have enough cargo space to bring the ATV or dirt bikes out for a day of fun or grilling equipment for a day of tailgating before a game.
Convenient Features
We’ve seen plenty of truck beds, but we’re impressed by how the 2025 F-350 makes work and play easier. A great example is the available Remote Power Tailgate. You’ll have a few different ways to open your tailgate with this feature, including pressing the handle on the tailgate and a dedicated button on your keyfob. The Remote Power Tailgate allows it to lower and rise automatically when you press the button. A retractable step is also included, making climbing into the truck to grab your equipment or unload cargo easier.
Another available feature for the 2025 F-350’s cargo bed is Pro Power Onboard. This is a 2kW generator built into your truck, supplying two power outlets perfect for power tools or camping trips. Ford understands that a job that needs to be done sometimes doesn’t care what time it is. You can opt for available LED lights in your bed to help keep your surroundings well-lit once the sun goes down. These lights are also available on your side mirrors.
Interior Convenience
The 2025 F-350 has the features you’re looking for. Do you need tech that’ll make the workday easier, seats that make long days or lengthy drives more comfortable, or a feature-rich infotainment center for all your entertainment and connectivity needs while you’re in your mobile work office? Ford considers your 2025 F-350’s interior a work office, and it understands the work day isn’t always about towing—sometimes, you need to set the laptop or clipboard down and talk logistics. The inherent problem is that most vehicles don’t have a viable solution for setting up shop. That’s not a problem with the 2025 F-350 with the available interior work surface.
The available interior work surface is essentially a foldable tray built into your center console. Unfolding the work surface reveals an ample-sized area fitting a range of different laptop and tablet sizes and clipboards, and even provides a clean and accessible spot to eat your lunch. The ability to pull up a client’s notes, message your team, or even watch an online video without awkwardly positioning your laptop above the steering wheel or on your dashboard or stepping out of your vehicle to use your device is a real game changer.
The idea of a mobile headquarters is smart because it allows Ford to build an interior focused on productivity and rejuvenation. There’s nothing wrong with lounging and napping on your break, even if you’re looking to rest your back for half an hour. The 2025 F-350 has available Max Recline seats. These seats make the most out of the F-350’s massive cabin by allowing you to recline your seat back until you’re lying down. Return the seat to its original position when it’s time to return to work, and you’ll feel refreshed on your workday.
Innovative Tech
You’ll find a robust SYNC 4 infotainment center in any 2025 F-350 you buy. However, the base model comes with an 8-inch screen, which is upgradable to a 12-inch system with improved speech recognition. This massive, upgraded SYNC 4 infotainment center comes standard on each following trim. The 12-inch multimedia hub has more to it than its increased screen real-estate and voice recognition features—it also supports SiriusXM radio and Ford’s in-house navigation software. This software, along with your SYNC 4 infotainment center’s operating system, will automatically download updates through its over-the-air method so that you’re always up to date and never hindered from using your infotainment center with a disruptive update schedule.
The 2025 F-350’s SYNC 4 implementation is great because you get connectivity features like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The F-350 also supports a 5G Wi-Fi hotspot for blazing-fast internet connectivity built into your truck to connect all of your wireless devices. You can charge your smartphone through the available wireless charging pad. These trims also include one of two Bang & Olufsen (B&O) premium audio systems, including eight and 14-speaker options. Both sound systems include a subwoofer to enhance your music’s bass levels, and HD Radio connectivity is standard with both.
