If you are looking for a full-size truck, then you have a lot of options available to you, including (of course) the legendary Ford F-150. When you need something with more power and capabilities, however, then you should check out the 2025 Ford F-250 and the remarkable performance it has to offer. The F-250 is the middle ground between the F-150 and the even more capable F-350, making it the perfect Ford Super Duty model when you are not quite sure what level of performance you are looking for. You have a number of different engines available to you with this truck, and with serious towing and payload potential, you can put together the perfect pickup to help you get your job done.

Although it is possible to use the Ford F-250 as your personal pickup that you park in your driveway each night, most folks choose this as a powerful work truck. The standard engine is a 6.8L V8 with 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque, which shows you the kind of power this truck brings to the road. You can choose a more powerful V8 gas engine if you want to boost performance or two different diesel engines that take power and capability to the next level. When properly equipped and configured, the Ford F-250 gives you more than 4,200 lbs of payload rating and up to 23,000 lbs of maximum towing capacity. With three different cab sizes and two-bed lengths available, it is easy to put together the right truck to take care of business.

The standard model comes with 17-inch wheels, black exterior details, and a power-lock tailgate that is easy to open and close. Ford offers a number of great exterior options, including massive 20-inch wheels, body-color and chrome styling, and a power tailgate with a step that makes it easy to load and unload your truck bed. Inside the 2025 Ford F-250, you will find a sophisticated interior; the starting XL model comes with an eight-inch Infotainment display, a 4.2-inch productivity screen, and Ford telematics software that makes it easy to use your truck as part of a fleet. Looking at the high-end Platinum model, you get a 12-inch Infotainment screen along with a 12-inch productivity display, plus a 14-speaker sound system, leather seating, and much more. No matter what you need in your next work truck, there is a Ford F-250 that is perfect for you.

Engines

When looking at any kind of vehicle, the engine is always important since other elements of performance and its capabilities depend on the power it delivers. While that is true for any model, it goes double for trucks and perhaps triple (or quadruple?) for powerful work trucks like the Ford F-250. This is a full-size pickup designed to help you get some serious work done, which means it needs an engine that is up to the task. Ford understands this well, which is why you have four different engines available for the F-250 this year; the right one depends on the kind of power and capabilities you need in your pickup.

Starting things off is a 6.8L V8 gas engine that provides 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque; this would be the most powerful option for a lot of other trucks out there, which shows you just how much muscle we are talking about with the F-250. This engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission for a smooth and responsive driving experience—all four engines come with this same impressive transmission. If you are looking for something with greater power, then there is an available 7.3L V8 gas engine that provides 430 hp and 485 lb-ft of torque. The standard engine offers 14,800 lbs of maximum towing and 4,240 lbs of max payload, while the 7.3L V8 pushes those numbers up to 17,200 lbs of towing and 4,246 lbs of payload.

While these two gas engines are quite impressive, a lot of people interested in a work truck like the 2025 F-250 prefer a diesel engine; Ford gives you two options. There is a 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel V8 engine that delivers 475 hp and an impressive 1,050 lb-ft of torque, ensuring you have the power to tackle anything; this engine lets the F-250 handle up to 22,900 lbs of towing capacity and 4,048 lbs of max payload. Finally, a High Output version of this diesel engine boosts performance up to 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque. You can get up to 23,000 lbs of towing with this diesel engine and 3,918 lbs of maximum payload to handle any job.

Bed and Cab Configurations

As you look at an impressive work truck like the Ford F-250, it is important that you get a pickup with everything you need. Ford makes this easier for you by giving you a number of excellent options to choose from when putting together the perfect pickup. For starters, you have three different cab sizes available for the F-250: a Regular Cab with just one row of seats, a Super Cab that adds a second row to bring more people along with you, and a Crew Cab with a larger interior that provides you with more passenger and cargo space (particularly behind the front seats). Consider how many people and what stuff you want to be able to have in your truck’s cab before deciding on which option is right for you.

You also have two different bed lengths to choose from with the Ford F-250 this year, along with both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive engineering. If you do not need a ton of bed space, then there is a 6.75-foot bed available with a short wheelbase that could be perfect for you—this one has 65.4 cu.ft. of cargo volume. There is also an eight-foot bed available that gives you 78.5 cu.ft. of cargo volume and about a foot-and-a-half of extra interior bed length to take advantage of. Note that the Regular Cab only comes with this eight-foot bed; the Super Cab and Crew Cab are available with either bed length to let you customize your truck just the way you want.

Stylish Features

Other exterior features are generally based on which trim level you are looking at for the 2025 F-250, though you still have plenty of available options. The starting XL trim, for example, comes with black door handles, black front and rear bumpers, a black grille, and more—chrome or body-color bumpers are available for the XL but not standard. Looking at something like the high-end Platinum trim, you find body-color bumpers and door handles, a black grille, power-deployable running boards, and much more. With a variety of wheel sizes available, different options for tires (including 35-inch off-road tires), and more, you can put together the truck with everything you want.

Comfort and Tech

Inside the 2025 Ford F-250, you will find one of the most advanced and impressive cabins in the auto industry, though the features you get depend on the trim level and available options you choose. The starting trim—the F-250 XL—comes with a straightforward interior that includes an eight-inch SYNC 4 Infotainment system, a 4.2-inch productivity screen for the driver, and manual air conditioning. Vinyl seating is standard in the XL with a 40/20/40 split bench up front, a 60/40 rear bench (in models with rear seating), and a four-speaker sound system. You can get upgrades like cloth seating, a Pro Power Onboard system to provide power to external devices, and more, but the baseline features provide you with a great, simple truck to get your job done.

If you go up to something like the Platinum trim, then you get to enjoy a significant selection of enhancements that make this the perfect mobile office to help you take care of business. The Limited features a 12-inch Infotainment display and 12-inch productivity screen that make it easier to stay connected to others and keep an eye on important information for your truck, along with two-tone leather seating that is incredibly comfortable. You get a 14-speaker B&O sound system, dual-zone electronic automatic temperature control, an eight-way driver’s and front-passenger seat, heated and ventilated front seating, and much more. All of this comes together to make this the ideal truck if you spend a lot of time on the road each day for work, providing you with a command center that can take you anywhere you need to go.
