With available all-wheel drive (AWD), you can take advantage of torque at all four wheels when you need it—like on slippery roads—but also switch back to front-wheel drive (FWD) when you don’t. That means you get to enjoy optimal traction on wet roads but can also benefit from the boost in fuel economy you get in FWD. This is one reason the Escape is such a great option for drivers who spend some days in the city and some on dirt roads. Plus, it’s excellent for traveling in all four seasons. Get the traction you need in winter or the rainy season, but switch back to FWD in the dry months.

Drive Modes

The versatility of the Escape doesn’t end with the available AWD. It also has several selectable drive modes that adapt to your environment and the road. You can choose between several powertrains, including a 1.5L or 2.0L EcoBoost. The latter gets you Auto Start-Stop Technology, which automatically turns the engine off in idling situations to help you conserve fuel. As the driver, you’ll enjoy an available 10-way power driver seat while your front-seat passenger can sit on a six-way power seat. You can both adjust the angles of your seats and slide them forward or back to get comfortable for long drives. Second-row passengers will appreciate the sliding second-row seats, which can provide up to 5.9 inches of additional legroom.

The addition of a heated steering wheel will keep your fingers warm and nimble on cold days, too. Plus, there are available heated front seats to give you and your co-pilot full-body warmth. Also, on the climate front, you can utilize the available Remote Start System to turn on the heat or air conditioning before even getting into the vehicle. Stay connected with friends and loved ones, be entertained, and find your way with ease in the 2025 Escape. It has all of the technology features you could ask for in an adventure vehicle. Connected navigation gets you up-to-date traffic and road condition reports to help you choose the most efficient route. When you have connected navigation, you don’t need to use a smartphone navigation system. Your system relies on satellite GPS, so even when you have no cell service or a dead battery on your phone, you’ll still find your way.

If you do want to use your preferred smartphone app—or another app—on your touchscreen, you’ll appreciate the wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. There’s also a wireless charging pad, so if you want a total USB-cord-free dash area, you can have it. Plus, you’ll get to view your apps on the available 13.2-inch touchscreen.
