2025 Ford Maverick

If you know much about trucks, you likely know that the Ford F-Series has been the best-selling truck in the nation for more than 45 years. What you might not know is that Ford doesn’t just make long-lasting, rugged full-size trucks. The brand also offers an eye-catching, durable, fuel-efficient compact truck, which is perfect for drivers who want something smaller without losing the versatility that trucks provide. That truck is the 2025 Ford Maverick, and it’s been turning heads since 2022, although the Maverick name has been part of the brand for much longer than that.

The first Ford Maverick was introduced in 1969 for the 1970 model year—and the only similarities it shares with today’s Maverick are the Ford name, the low base price, fuel efficiency, and the compact size. The original Maverick was a compact car with a long hood, fastback roof, and a six-cylinder engine. It was designed to compete with the likes of the Volkswagen Beetle and was one of the best-selling compact cars in the 1970s. However, it was discontinued in 1978 when the brand chose to focus more on the Ford Fairmont.

As a truck, the Maverick is still in its first generation, but the 2025 model year received several updates, including a new performance-inspired trim and refreshed styling, focusing on the front bumper, grille, and wheel designs. Additionally, a larger infotainment screen, an available 360-degree camera, and other interior upgrades give the cabin a fresh, modern vibe. Ford also increased the standard driver-assist safety features for this year’s Maverick, adding things like a lane-keeping assist and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go. Last but certainly not least, the hybrid Maverick option gained a new all-wheel drive system that can tow up to 4,000 lbs when appropriately equipped.

You can find the 2025 Ford Maverick at our Loganville Ford, along with a knowledgeable and friendly team who can review the latest updates and the trims available, giving you the details you need to make an informed decision. If you’ve been looking for a compact truck that can easily navigate tight city streets and help you check the boxes on your to-do list—whether that’s enjoying the great outdoors more or picking up the landscaping supplies, the Maverick is a great option to consider.

Technology

Infotainment

In today’s digitally focused environment, it’s hard to stay away from technology, even in our vehicles. However, that’s actually more of a positive than you might realize at first glance. While it’s nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind, technology isn’t all about emails and Zoom meetings. It’s also the ability to crank up the volume of the stereo as you stream your favorite playlist or use voice commands to call your friends and confirm your meeting time while still keeping your eyes on the road.

When you consider technology and the 2025 Ford Maverick, you’ll see that it gives you the chance to do each of those things and much more. First, everything you need is right at your fingertips, thanks to the 13.2-inch touchscreen—which is the largest in the compact truck class. Additionally, wireless smartphone compatibility, along with a seamless connection to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, means you can easily assess contacts, directions, and more.

Safety and Driver-Assist Features

Technology also extends to safety, and the newest Maverick is sporting even more standard safety features than before, which gives you greater confidence on the road. Adding to an already lengthy list are Lane Keeping Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Automatic High-Beam Headlamps. Additionally, you can find an upgraded version of Adaptive Cruise Control in higher trims, such as the Lariat and Tremor, which includes lane-centering functionality as well as Predictive Speed Assist.

Speaking of safety, you’ll find that the Maverick earned four out of five stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), including five stars for both front and side crash testing, giving you the confidence you need when traveling from point A to point B.

Functionality

Bed Features

As a general rule, trucks are among the most functional vehicles, especially in more recent years as brands have focused on interior comfort and convenience as well as power, performance, and durability. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that the Maverick offers a number of ways for you to get things done.

First, the FLEXBED Storage System is organization at its finest. At first glance, you’ll quickly notice that the sides of the bed are lower than usual, allowing you to easily reach into the bed to access what you need, even if what you need is at the bottom of the load floor. Also, the bed is wide enough to accommodate 4×8 sheets over the wheelhouses. This is significant as it also allows you to create two tiers of storage or simply haul 4×8 sheets home from the lumber store for your weekend DIY project. The tailgate offers additional functionality as it can be set to mid-position—which is rated for 400 lbs—to contain longer items.

That’s not all. The FLEXBED storage system that lets your imagination run wild. You can use the available accessories, such as bolt-in sliding tie-downs, a bed extender, and a tonneau cover, along with other materials and a bit of ingenuity to create a box divider, fishing rod holder, bike rack, or whatever you need to make the bed work for you. Plus, you’ll appreciate the tie-downs that double as bottle openers, the available 12V DIY power source, and the 110V/400W outlet. Want even more? You can outfit the bed with other Ford accessories to make the most of your space.

Engine Options

You might not think a compact truck offers much in the way of power and performance, but the 2025 Ford Maverick was designed to prove you wrong. First, the standard 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder offers a lot of get-up-and-go, with 238 hp and 275 lb-ft of torque. You also have the option of the 2.5L I-4 hybrid engine for better fuel economy and a smooth and efficient ride, thanks to the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

New Trims

The newest Maverick is available in five trims, which increased from the 2024 model year thanks to the addition of the Lobo trim and the Tremor. The Lobo trim, which is at the top of the lineup, offers a lowered suspension, upgraded braking system, standard all-wheel drive, 19-inch rally-inspired wheels, and much more, giving you a performance option that takes you wherever you want to go. You can also take advantage of the Lobo driving mode, which improves cornering, traction, and stability. This mode was designed for closed courses and high-performance driving. Essentially, Ford designed the Lobo trim to be the street-performance version of the Maverick.

If you’d rather be off-road than performing on the streets, the Tremor trim is right up your alley. This trim level was designed to tackle the trails, offering performance features such as an elevated ride height with 9.4 inches of ground clearance, all-terrain tires, specialized off-road tuned suspension, Ford Trail Control, transmission cooler, 360-degree camera system, and skid plates, just to name a few.

Trailering Tech

You can tow up to 4,000 lbs by adding the optional tow package, and the max payload capacity of 1,500 lbs will help you get everything you need where it needs to go. Technology also comes into play when exploring power and performance. This can be seen in features like the Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist, which are standard on the Lariat and Tremor trims. Both of these advanced technology features increase your confidence when towing, which also increases what you can do behind the wheel of the Maverick.
