The 2023 Mach-E: Not Your Typical Mustang
The iconic reputation of the Mustang might seem hard to follow up, but for Ford, there’s no challenge that’s too great. For 2023, they’ve taken the Mustang emblem and kicked it into overdrive. We’re talking about the all-electric Mustang Mach-E. While it has an SUV body, unconventional for this muscle car, it has the speed and ingenuity that gives it the ability to wear the Mustang badge.
With an industry-wide push towards electrified vehicles and away from gas-guzzling powertrains, Ford knew it had to produce something special with its venture into EV territory. Ford understands how critical it is to build an EV that’s stylish, fast, and affordable to compete with the likes of Chevy, Tesla, Polaris, Toyota, and other brands launching their EV lineups. The 2023 Mustang Mach-E is the brainchild of that vision, and for those looking to experience this exceptional vehicle in person, we invite you to visit us at Loganville Ford, your premier Ford Mach-E dealer.
If you’re shopping for a new vehicle, you have an overwhelming amount of choices. Maybe you’re new to EV ownership, suffering from what has commonly become known as “range anxiety.” There is a lot to consider when making these sorts of investments. But as the global automotive landscape pushes further into electric, adding new public charging stations in droves, it’s becoming more and more realistic for everyone to consider EV ownership.
Additionally, you’ll get the satisfying feeling of saving money on gas, helping the environment, and other perks like state rebates. There’s never been a better time to consider the EV market. However, just because you’re helping the environment doesn’t mean it needs to be boring. The merging of the Mustang with an all-electric powertrain could just be the answer to getting everything you want out of a vehicle. Let’s take a closer look at what makes this vehicle so special.
Style for Miles
Perhaps one of the coolest aspects of the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is its overall appearance. There is a lot of weight and responsibility if you’re going to use the Mustang name, so Ford engineers had to rise to the challenge. When the Ford Mustang debuted in 1965, Ford anticipated 100,000 sales in its inaugural year; however, the sleek and sporty design turned heads like nothing they had anticipated. On day one, the Mustang sold 22,000 and coined an entirely new car genre that came to be known as pony cars.
This iconic muscle car began making regular appearances in tv shows and movies, soaring in popularity. These days, collector’s editions of Mustang models are auctioned off at insane prices and make frequent appearances in automotive museums and car shows. The Mustang name did a lot for Ford, and the choice to use it on their first fully electric SUV wasn’t made in vain.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Mustang Mach-E is the impeccable exterior design. While it’s an SUV, the Mach-E has a lower, aggressive stance that gives it a bold and sporty aesthetic. The taillights are very distinctly Mustang. The headlamps feature unique LED lighting and head-turning lines. You can order the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E in one of five available trim levels. The trim levels include the Select, Premium, California Route 1, Gt, and GT Performance Edition. Every 2023 model is 74.1 inches wide. The Select, Premium, and California Route 1 models are 185.6 inches long, while the GT and GT Performance Editions are a slightly wider 186.7 inches.
Choose from eight beautiful exterior colors, including Shadow Black, Grabber Blue Metallic, Cyber Orange Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic, Vapor Blue Metallic, Carbonized Gray Metallic, Space White Metallic, or the Star White Metallic Tri-Coat. The Select is equipped with 18-inch wheels, while the Premium offers gloss-black 19-inch wheels and black detailing along the bumpers and door cladding. If you enjoy the look of even larger wheels, the GT Performance Edition package includes gloss-black 20-inch wheels and black GT badging.
A Range of Power
When it comes to the powertrain, the Mustang Mach-E delivers with power, range, and charging. The Select, Premium, and California Route 1 models offer a rear-mounted motor, while the GT and GT Performance Edition have an electric motor mounted on both axles, giving it eAWD. Depending on the trim level, these models offer 266 to 346 hp and 317 to 428 lb-ft of torque.
The two GT models have an output of 480 hp and 634 lb-ft of torque. Those impressive figures deliver a lot of fun and excitement, with a 0 to 60 mph time of only 3.5 seconds. Acceleration feels organic, delivering an ultra-smooth ride. Meanwhile, the handling gives you the type of sturdy feel that makes the SUV feel tightly grasped, even on tight turns. Best of all, the impressive performance is quiet, with very little noise transferring to the cabin.
Choose from two available batteries: the 70.0 kWh standard battery or the extended-range 91 kWh option. Depending on which trim you select, you can get anywhere from 247 to 312 miles on a single charge. For example, the Select model gets an EPA-estimated 247 miles, the Premium gets an EPA-estimated 270 miles, and the California Route 1 has the longest range at an EPA-estimated 312 miles per charge.
Every Mach-E has fast-charging compatibility; with the smaller 120-volt outlet, you can add 30 miles of range overnight. However, moving to a 240-volt outlet gets you 80% battery life in the same timeframe. When you have a Ford charge station installed by a certified technician, you can enjoy fast charging that gets you 32 miles charged per hour and a full recharge overnight.
A Cool and Convenient Cabin
While it’s easy to fixate on how awesome the powertrain and exterior are on this Ford SUV, we’d be doing you a disservice by not highlighting the best of what the interior has to offer. The Mach-E has a thoughtful interior, with high-end touches everywhere you look. It boasts a flexible interior that comfortably seats five. The 60/40 rear seats fold down when you need a little extra cargo space for bigger items, offering 59.7 cu.ft. of space. The trunk space, or rather, frunk space as it’s located in the front, offers 4.7 cu.ft. of waterproof storage.
There’s an impressive 15.5-inch touchscreen vertical display that pairs seamlessly with all of your devices. The available Panoramic Fixed-Glass Roof offers wide views while helping keep the interior cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Take advantage of all the Mach-E’s revolutionary technology, like converting your smartphone into your keyfob, utilizing Driver Recognition, or the illuminated E-latch that lights up and unlocks your mustang with a touch and then locks it when you walk away.
A Mustang for the Times
The 2023 Mustang Mach-E offers a long list of trendy and desirable features. From its flexible interior to a head-turning exterior, the Mach-E oozes with style. Ford designed this Mustang to show that environmentally friendly vehicles don’t need to be boring. The Mach-E delivers plenty of power, a generous range, and easy setup and charging capabilities that are perfect for a driver new to EVs. The vehicle lives up to its moniker thanks to its dynamic powertrain and sporty look. It’s all the conveniences of an SUV, all the benefits of an all-electric motor, and all the perks of driving a Mustang rolled into one. The future is bright for the 2023 Mustang Mach-E, and there’s never been a better time to join the party.
