2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E makes a big splash for the model year with exciting customer-facing features that make it more appealing to those hoping to purchase a sporty EV. This rings especially true given that the Mustang Mach-E for 2023 has seen a price reduction, giving it a broader appeal for those looking to buy an EV on a budget. This price reduction also comes with many new updates in the form of standard features and a brand-new package that makes the Mustang Mach-E even more valuable.
Aside from the price reduction, the big news for 2023 is that the Ford Mustang Mach-E now has more range on a full charge, which is enticing news for those looking for a long-range EV. Ford has upped the ante with the Mach-E over the outgoing year by up to 13 miles for the Premium models with an extended-range battery. In essence, the 2023 Mach-E can now travel a total estimated range of 290 miles when configured in all-wheel drive.
Additionally, the GT Performance Edition and Premium models with an extended range battery have access to an all-new Nite Pony Package. This package contains 19-inch high-gloss black wheels and a black pony decal, along with black accents, black door cladding, black front and rear lower fascia designs, and black mirror caps on the grille for the Premium. On the GT Performance Edition, you have 20-inch high-gloss black wheels and a matching black GT badge, along with black accents, cladding, and fascia designs. The Nite Pony Package can be paired with any of the vehicle’s exterior colors, including the two new colors joining the lineup in the form of Vapor Blue and Carbonized Gray Metallic. The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E is available in four trims, including Select, Premium, California Route 1, and GT. You can also get the GT trim in the special GT Performance Edition.

Performance
The beauty of an EV is that you no longer have to worry about gas prices for your vehicle; EVs don’t use traditional fossil fuels but are instead powered by batteries. This applies to all 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E power plants, which run on electric motors powered by a battery pack. There are multiple powertrain configurations available for the Mustang Mach-E, which includes two different drivetrain formats: front-wheel and all-wheel drive.
The 2023 Mustang Mach-E is available in standard- and extended-range battery packs in the 70 kWh and 91 kWh spectrum. In standard-range rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, you have up to 266 hp with 317 lb-ft of torque for the former, while all-wheel drive scales the torque up to 428 lb-ft. With the 91 kWh battery back in extended-range, rear-wheel drive provides 290 hp at 317 lb-ft of torque. The extended range 91 kWh battery pack in all-wheel drive delivers up to 346 hp at 428 lb-ft, while the GT version of the 91 kWh extended range battery pack in its standard all-wheel drive delivers a max 480 hp at up to 634 lb-ft of torque.
Ford wisely ensured that there would always be options for the Mustang Mach-E and that different types of drivers would have access to different types of performance. The battery pack and drivetrain configurations also give the Mustang Mach-E the ability to go from zero to sixty in 3.5 seconds, making it one of the fastest battery-operated compact SUVs on the market. The Mach-E also features an impressive range when it comes to fuel economy; the standard range battery has a maximum range of up to 247 miles on a full charge. With the extended-range battery, you have a maximum estimated range of up to 312 miles—perfect for those who want the maximum range possible with the 2023 Mach-E.
Design
The design of the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E lends itself well to multiple roles on the road. The diverse architecture between an electric sports vehicle and a family SUV gives it a lot of crossover appeal. With seating for up to five people across two rows, you can comfortably seat a small family in the Mach-E, all without sacrificing the potential performance that this vehicle boasts.
The Mach-E has also been designed to accommodate multiple charging possibilities. First, you have the basic 120V/12A Ford Mobile Charger, which you can plug into any wall outlet in your home or garage. Alternatively, you can have a technician install a 240V/32A NEMA 14-50 outlet at up to 32 amps to get faster charge times out of the Mach-E (from zero to 100% battery charge in 15 hours) or opt for the Ford Connected Charge Station, a hardwired 240V/48A wall dock that also needs professional installation and will get you from empty to full charge in under 11 hours.
The best part about it is that with the Mach-E you have access to the BlueOval Charge Network, for the most efficient form of charging the Mach-E. This gives owners of Ford’s performance EV a lot of different options when it comes to charging up the vehicle or topping it off for some extra range. You can even mix and match your charging, getting a boost at a public charge station and then topping off the rest of the charge at home. Utilize one of the thousands of public 115 kWH DC Fast Charging stations—the pop-up “gas stations” of the EV world—for rapid-fire charging so you can hurry back to the road.
Another big benefit to the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E’s design is that, even with the battery pack size, it doesn’t disrupt the cargo capacity. This includes cargo capacity behind the second row, accessible through the fastback hatch, as well as additional cargo capacity available at the front of the vehicle with the spacious “frunk.” Behind the second row, you have up to 29.7 cu.ft. of cargo volume to make use of and up to 59.7 cu.ft. of cargo volume with the second row folded down. If you pop open the frunk, you have an additional 4.7 cu.ft. of space, giving you a lot more cargo volume than you would otherwise get in a compact SUV.
Convenience
All of the standard Mach-E features are complemented with an excellent suite of safety features for the Mustang Mach-E, including the AdvanceTrac, for stability management and traction control, and the SecuriLock anti-theft system. An LED lighting array, individual tire pressure monitoring system, and audible vehicle alert systems all tie into the forward-thinking design of the Mach-E to make it as safe and secure as possible. This model also comes with active and passive safety measures, from a complete collection of airbags to the Ford Co-Pilot360, a suite of driver assistance features like collision alerts, automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot information with cross-traffic alert.
The 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E comes standard with the advanced Ford Co-Pilot360 2.0, featuring even more safety and driver assistance tools like parking sensors, post-impact braking, and intelligent adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality. This means the system will aid in lane centering, lane departure, speed sign recognition, and evasive steering assist, along with built-in connected navigation support. All of these features tie into the Ford BlueCruise hands-free semi-autonomous driving system, so you can conveniently enjoy the ride without having to worry about the stress of actually driving.
The connected services also include over-the-air network updates thanks to the FordPass Connect with SYNC 4A technology, which includes an available 10.2-inch digital information display cluster and an HD touchscreen that scales up to 15.5 in. This includes integrated support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Bluetooth wireless connectivity for streaming media and Wi-Fi hotspot support for multiple devices. This tech is elevated by wireless phone charging, multiple drive modes (including one-pedal driving to save on battery consumption), and the ability to use PaaK technology, so you can use your phone as a key to access the vehicle remotely.
There are plenty of comfort features in the form of ambient lighting, available ActiveX seating, and up to eight-way power driver seat with lumbar support and driver memory settings. Panoramic fixed-glass roof, heated seats, heated steering wheel, and multiple cargo containers for beverages, maps, and other belongings give the Mach-E a functional and approachable means of comfort and convenience without feeling cramped or overwhelming. It hits all the highlights of what you could possibly want out of a performance EV but with all of the functionality of a compact SUV.
