Performance

The 2023 Maverick is all about efficiency in its performance. You have two different powertrains available, one of which includes the front-wheel drive 2.5L I-4 Hybrid that combines an electric motor with a traditional combustion engine. This highly efficient propulsion system takes full advantage of its battery pack via regenerative braking.

This hybrid engine manages 191 hp at 173 lb-ft of torque, and it nets you some of the best available fuel economy within the segment thanks to its hybrid design. Paired with the continuously variable transmission (CVT), the 2.5L I-4 Hybrid manages up to 40 MPG in the city and up to 33 MPG on the highway.

For additional power and performance, the Maverick is available with the 2.0L turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder, which makes 250 hp at 277 lb-ft of torque; this gives you a higher ceiling of performance to access, which plays a big part in the Maverick’s towing and trailering capabilities.

The turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder is married to an eight-speed automatic transmission and manages 23 MPG in the city and up to 30 MPG on the highway when configured in front-wheel drive.
